Transferable skills
Posted on: 14 September 2022
I believe that the ability to perform and entertain is a crucial part of any musician’s skillset. That’s why I stage regular concerts. They enable my drummers to hone these skills. What is more is that these abilities are very much transferable to other areas of life: Whether you play drums in front of an audience, present a project to your class mates or pitch an idea to your colleagues, it is confidence, focus and presentation skills that will stand you in good stead.
For this and many other reasons the bi-annual DomDom concerts are very special to me. The most recent ones on the 19th and 20th of July 2022 were no exception. They presented a fitting way to celebrate the end of the academic year and all my drummers have achieved. And allowed them to showcase this development to their nearest and dearest.
My heartfelt thank you to the 26 DomDom drummers that performed across the 2 nights. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for:
Megan, Sam S., Paul, Sam M., William, Bonnie, Nala, Eva, Chelsea, Josie, Jamie, Eddy, Ted, Ben, Taylor, Merryn, Jess, Tilly, Gary, Nayah, Edward, James G., James H., Ava, Helena and Olivia.
Kudos to you all!
And whilst on the subject of thanks, I would also like to give gratitude to Tristan from Elm Financial and Shirley from What Next for hosting the TheDomDom’s student concerts at Dakota. Your ongoing support is much appreciated.
