Spring is here. Yay :-)

Spring is here. Yay.
The one term that doesn’t culminate in an end of term DomDom concert is the autumn term: Few of us need another entry in our pre-Christmas diaries, and – scheduling aside – this DomDom tradition allows my drummers to focus on their December gradings. (And focus they did…)
But life is about balance. So it’s always a little slice of heaven to return to stage at the end of the Spring Term.
The recent DomDom Spring Term Concert (1.4.2025), our 9th concert, was no exception:
Spring is all about new beginnings and – rather fittingly – this concert featured no fewer than 6 new beginnings: 6 drummers made their DomDom concert debut, our highest number of ‘first timers’ since our inaugurate concert in April 2018. A very warm welcome to: Jack, Chris, Emma, Artie, Dave and Maria. May your first performance be as special and transformative to you, as mine was to me.
And a big thank you to:
- everyone who performed:
- all 112 of you that came to support
- Wendy and all her team at The Pavilion for expertly hosting us for the 5th time
- Gavin from Beaucroft for attentively capturing the evening on camera
Also a special mention to Joey and Amber. Had Joey not broken his arm just before, he would have been our 7th drummer to make his debut at this concert. Here’s to your speedy, yet thorough recovery, Joey. And thank you, Amber, for taking Joey’s place with only a few days’ notice. You nailed it and made Avril Lavigne’s ‘Complicated’ look anything but complicated 😉
And – as is tradition by now – we also recognized those DomDom drummers at the concert that were particularly committed to their practice and topped the Spring Term ‘Who’s-aceing-TheDomDom’s-TomToms’ chart*.
Hats off to:
Dave, Maria, Chris, Alex, Jem, Max, Eva, Jonathan
*I’m very pleased to announce that – at the time of writing – this scheme and the altruism of my drummers are now responsible for the arrival of 6219 new trees.
Here’s to a great summer term culminating in a great Summer Concert.
A big heartfelt thank you to you all for being part of TheDomDom 🙂
Hiya Dom
Thank you SO much for last night. My parents said how lovely it was to be able to enjoy a night like that for free! They sang your praises, as do I, and we really appreciate the effort and money that goes into a night like that. The atmosphere was so supportive as always and it was an absolute pleasure and inspiring to watch everyone play. Thank you for bigging me up as always😄 I really enjoyed myself! I came away wanting to work on my technique a little bit more, but overall, I loved the song and felt proud of myself for sticking with the drum-less track and pushing myself to do this.
