The 10th DomDom Concert

We celebrated the end of the academic year with a milestone:  The 10th DomDom Concert

For me, it was a very moving affair and I want to extend my sincerest thanks to:

  • Each and every body who played a part in us getting this far
  • All 109 of you that came to support
  • Everybody who performed:

Izzy, Elise, Freddie, Jack, Nala, Max, Jane, Jonathan, Sam, Bianca, Conor, Artie, Ted, Ava, James, Sabella, Edward, Rosie, Dominique, Matthew, Tilly and Thomas

  • Wendy and all the team at The Pavilion for expertly hosting us for the 6th time
  • Gavin from Beaucroft for capturing the evening on camera

And a special mention to our first time performers: Sabella, Izzy, Elise and Jane and a fond and grateful farewell to Jamie and Matthew, who are off to university and to Izzy, Conor and Bianca who are moving abroad.

As always the concert also served as an opportunity to recognise those DomDom drummers that were particularly committed to their practice and topped the Summer Term ‘Who’s-aceing-TheDomDom’s-TomToms’ chart.

Hats off to:

Chris, Dave, Maria, Jack B., Dominique, Alex, Artie, Max, Jack R. and Jem

And as the concert marked the end of the academic year, let’s indulge in a little review:

Since September 2024:

  • TheDomDom drummers have collectively practised 89430 minutes / 1490 hours
  • 16 DomDom drummers donated their respective prices and sponsored the planting of a whopping 1600 trees. Our current total now stands at 6819 trees (click here for full details on the scheme)
  • 14 DomDom drummers challenged themselves by taking their next grade with very respectable results: 8 merits & 6 distinctions.
  • 43 DomDom drummers performed in this year’s DomDom end of term concerts
  •  2 DomDom drummers came to a Lunar Keys rehearsal and gained experience playing with a live band.

And I had the pleasure of teaching around 1682 lessons and am now enjoying my break 😉

Happy holidays everybody and thank you for all your support throughout the academic year.

I very much look forward to welcoming you all back in September. Thank you for being part of TheDomDom.

Thank you so much again for yet another incredible evening! The support and community feel you have worked so hard to build was as strong as ever. As always, it was such a pleasure seeing everyone play, and the talent last night was insane! I usually always enjoy playing at these evenings, the more I do it the less nervous I feel prior as well 😀 I particularly enjoyed last night…perhaps because I wasn’t over rehearsed let’s say(!)…but I also think it was because the atmosphere was so good and I felt so supported by you all.
